Seeing An Accident On The Road

While our ego creates a sense of separateness from our child, the fact is that our child is an expression of ourselves and will survive us as our link to future generations.  This paradox of separateness has many consequences to our developing relationship with our child. On the one hand, we can become too close, and on the other, too distant. Regardless of how we manage that relationship, at the deepest level we are one and the same.  Embrace your child while reciting this verse and imagine yourselves as a single being.  When your embrace ends, you may walk in different directions but your heart and your child’s will beat in time.
