My teeth inside me

Will soon be clean and bright

And my smile

Will sparkle like the sun

Brushing Your Child’s Teeth

Everyone feels differently about brushing their child’s teeth.  Some love every moment of it and others find it very frustrating.  Because it is a time we spend with our child, this verse, which my daughter and I made up when we were together on a trip to Wyoming, can be shared with your child at the time of brushing.  Recite it aloud and invite your child to join in.  Brushing teeth may even become easier and more fun as you both become more mindful of the moment and frustrations recede.

Soon enough, the process of brushing your child’s teeth (and their own brushing) will become automatic.  This verse reminds us that we are cleaning the teeth, making the body healthier, and opening ourselves up to the world with our beautiful smile. You may find that not only does this verse awaken you at this precious moment, but it may also inspire your child to enjoy brushing her teeth.
